About the global health protection major

Global health protectors work to improve public health by identifying, tracking, and addressing environmental risk factors. They perform research, educate the public, help develop and implement public policy, improve the practices of businesses and the government, and create new technologies to help make our world cleaner and safer. Topics of interest in this field include energy use and climate change, electronic waste, managing the safety and scarcity of food and water, and dealing with migrant health on a global scale.

Skills and abilities this major develops: ability to analyze data and policy, critical thinking and problem solving, scientific inquiry, and ability to communicate information.
