Through partnerships with over 500 Indiana employers, Ascend provides students with a career mentor to serve as a resource and guide in the search and a tech-enabled platform, called the Ascend Network, that provides access to hundreds of early-in-career opportunities. |

October 29 | Behind the Scenes of Medical Research Labs: Career Paths in Clinical and Translational Research | 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | The focus of this field trip will be on how anatomy laboratories shape biomedical research and education. A brief tour of the medical school anatomy lab will focus on key aspects that are utilized for teaching both medical and professional students. Faculty members will then highlight how the gross anatomy, and those who donate their bodies, play a key role in research aimed at understanding aspects of human learning/development, evolution, and human health. |
November 5 | Epidemiology Resource Center | 1:00–2:30 p.m. | The Indiana Department of Health’s (IDOH) Epidemiology Research Center's (ERC) mission is to protect the health of Hoosiers through surveillance, investigation, education, and collaboration. During this trip, you will learn more about IDOH, what public health is, and the programs and divisions that make up the department, as well as ERC’s role among them. |
