About the biomedical informatics major

Biomedical informatics is a major that focuses on using biomedical data and technology as tools to improve human health. You'll learn how to translate basic research into better health care solutions through computing. Through this major, you'll gain extensive knowledge in both biology and information technology.

Graduates of this major are prepared to work in the biomedical and genome research industry through. You may choose to pursue one of three tracts: bioinformatics, health informatics, or premedical bioinformatics.

Skills and abilities this major develops: biomedical data analysis, coding, research, computational biology, information management, analytical problem-solving skills, communication, and teamwork skills.
