One of the most difficult tasks of being a college student is figuring out what classes to take and when to take them. In order to make the process a little easier, each major at IUPUI has its own degree map outlining the path you should take to graduate as quickly as possible.

Get admitted to the School of Engineering and Technology

Admission

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Complete ENG-W 131
  • Be ready to go into MATH 16500 (complete prerequisites or place into via math placement test)
  • Be ready to go into CHEM-C 105 (complete prerequisites or determined by placement)
  • Complete 12 credit hours that count toward the engineering degree (ENG-W 131 counts toward the 12 credit hours)
Additional requirements

Students can certify from University College to the School of Engineering and Technology once they have achieved the requirements above, but to be fully admitted to certain majors, additional requirements need to be met as follows:

  • Motorsports engineering (MSTE) majors in their second semester must apply to the Motorsports Engineering Program by April 15.
  • Please note: This application is only available during the spring semester. If you miss the April 15 deadline, you will not be able to apply for continuation until the next spring.
  • Review of applications will take place once official spring grades are posted.

This major belongs to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) cluster. The STEM cluster is the academic home of University College students pursuing majors in the sciences, technology, engineering, informatics, and computing. The STEM cluster partners with students on their academic advising and career plans to guide them into their degree-granting schools.
