Department:
Academic and Career Development
Campus:
IUPUI

Education:

  • M.S.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs (currently pursuing)
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication (with a minor in leadership practice and study), University of Arizona, 2020

Professional Experience:

  • How long in ACD?: Since August 2020.
  • What do you like about the work you do?: I love the opportunity to learn about people’s stories. College can be a time of exploration and growth, and I get to guide and mentor students along their journeys. Being able to do that every day really makes me feel fulfilled because I get to see students not just learn, but thrive.
  • Past jobs/experiences:
    • Peer mentor
    • Summer program student coordinator
    • Teaching assistant for American Sign Language
    • AVID college readiness tutor

Advice to students: Don’t be afraid to try new things. Take this time to explore what you really find fulfilling. Ultimately, it’s your education and your life, so make the most of it! The world is full of opportunities, and college is a great time to seize them.

If you could be any major in your cluster, what would it be? Why?: I would probably choose music technology. Not only are we living in a digital age, but I love music, and learning more about the music industry is so interesting. I love learning more about how to integrate technology in my life and being able to use it alongside my other passions.

Biography: I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I enjoy singing, getting to know others, playing video games, cooking, and watching Netflix/Hulu and other streaming services. In college, I was in an a cappella group, and even beatboxed! I’m still getting to know the Midwest, and I’m really enjoying it. Beyond that, I have an identical twin whom I love dearly!
