Campus:

Education:

  • Doctor of Education; Adult, Higher, and Community Education; Ball State University
  • Master of Education, College Student Affairs Leadership, Grand Valley State University
  • Bachelor of Science, History and Political Science, Ball State University

Professional Experience:

  • How long in ACD: I started in November 2021.
  • What do you like about the work you do: I love the opportunities I have to help faculty and staff have what they need to help our students find their right paths to a degree and job after graduation.
  • Past jobs/experiences: I have worked in a number of roles in higher education, including residence life, academic advising, student conduct, TRIO Student Support Services, and career development. I most recently led Indiana INTERNnet (now Work and Learn Indiana), a not-for-profit focused on using internships and work-and-learn experiences to connect students to employers across Indiana.

Advice to students: Always ask questions. Always seek out resources. Remember not to compare the first chapter in your book to the tenth chapter in someone else's. And always come see your student success advisor and career consultant.

If you could be any major in your cluster, what would it be? Why?: I would be an exploratory major instead of changing my major as a junior and going to school for a fifth year to earn my degree. Our first choice is rarely our best choice.

Biography: I am originally from Culver, Indiana, but I have called Indianapolis my home now for over a decade. I have been married to my partner-in-crime Ali since October 2014. We currently have two dogs: a Yorkie named Grace and a blind Labrador retriever named Edgar. They are both senior dogs. I enjoy rooting for the Colts and the Atlanta Braves, reading/listening to audiobooks, and binge-watching shows on Netflix and Hulu. I have also completed a few half marathons and will soon train for a full marathon. I have been working with/for students for nearly 20 years and am happy to be back in higher education and part of the IUPUI family!
