Did you ever change your major? Yes, social work.
Work or involvement experience while at IUPUI: Project Lead The Way (PLTL) leader for general chemistry recitations, Life and Health Sciences Internship (LHSI) at the Center for Public Health Practice (FSPH), and intern at the IUPUI Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) Center in the Fairbanks School of Public Health.
Advice to students: Nobody really knows what they're doing, so don't be afraid to ask for help! At the very least, you'll get better at asking the right questions.
Brief bio: I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but my family is originally from Guatemala! After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend medical school and specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. Hopefully, I'll be working in a position that helps expand access to reproductive and sexual health resources to underserved communities. During my downtime, I enjoy roller-skating, reading, and watching cat videos on the internet.
